Montvale Surgical Center is an outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) where minimally invasive pain management and podiatry procedures are performed. Our facility provides cost-effective services in a convenient, relaxed environment. Our patients arrive on the day of their procedure, have their surgery in a fully equipped operating room and recover under the care of highly skilled nurses — all without hospital admission.

Our procedures offer a safe and long lasting alternative to medications and surgery.

Before your scheduled appointment, please read over this information carefully.

Please arrive 1 hour before your scheduled appointment. Doing so gives us time to verify your medical information and provide you with details concerning your procedure. It also gives you time to meet with the physician performing your procedure and ask him/her any questions you might have. The patient scheduled for the appointment must do the following before arriving on all days of their procedure:

  • Do not eat or drink anything (including water) for 8 hours prior to the procedure appointment. (Anesthesia must be given on an empty stomach.)
    • In order to prevent dehydration, we suggest taking in plenty of fluids for several days prior, especially during the day prior.
    • It is advised to avoid alcohol at least 24 hours prior to the (3) procedure days and for at least 24 hours after.
  • Let us know if you have any allergies to food, medications and/or latex.
  • Bring with you a list of any medications or herbal supplements you’re taking and their dosages
  • If you take any regularly prescribed medications for hypertension, diabetes or another medical condition, take it but using only a very small sip of water, if instructed to do so by a doctor.
  • The patient must be accompanied by a friend or family member to drive the patient home after the procedure, due to the anesthesia.
  • Do not wear any make-up or nail polish.
  • Leave all jewelry at home, or give it to your friend or relative waiting with you.
  • You’ll be changing into a gown, so we suggest wearing or bringing looser fitting clothing such as shorts and t-shirt or tank top to have under the gown.
  • Continue to adhere to the doctor’s in-office follow-up care and self-help exercises to maintain the benefits gained through the MUA procedure.
  • Call us if you experience any of the following:
    • Fever over 101 degrees
    • Excessive pain or swelling
    • Excessive drainage or bleeding
    • Continued nausea or vomiting
    • An unexpected reaction to medication
